Anxietyis one of the major psychological problems that affect people of allages across the globe. Anxiety occurs when an individual expects somedispleasure or tension to increase (Frager &amp Fadiman, 2013). Anexposure to feared situations of objects during anxiety triggers anintense form of anxiety or panic attack. This implies that the mosteffective way of managing anxiety is to understand and address theunderlying causes. However, coping with anxiety becomes morechallenging in psyche because many people are tempted to avoid thefeared situations or objects, which is a counterproductive anxietymanagement approach.

Thereare three major reasons that make coping with anxiety in psyche morechallenging. First, the human brain is made for survival, but nothappenings (Greenberg, 2014). This increases the probability ofgetting stuck in cycles of worry, self-criticism, and fear. Secondly,the defensive mechanism of coping with anxiety often fails to workbecause human brain keeps on bringing negative emotions back. Thisserves as a reminder that a person has some unattended problem oranticipates some tension in the near future. This reduces one’scapacity to assume that the negative emotions do not exist. Third,negative feelings and thoughts triggers each other (Greenberg, 2014). This means that the expectation of tension resulting from onehappening can trigger fear from other types of feared objects orsituations. For example, fear about the lack of enough money cantrigger the fear of losing a job, which might worsen the financialcondition. This means that a person suffering from anxiety is forcedto handle multiple challenges, which makes coping more challenging.

Inconclusion, anxiety is a common psychological problem that affectsmany people. Coping with anxiety in psyche becomes more challengingbecause human brains is not wired for happenings, the brain keeps onbringing negative events back to memory, and negative feelings andthoughts trigger each other.
